2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo Extended, 5.7 R, L31/KL8SECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling SystemΒ .
  2. Remove the drive belt tensioner.
  3. Remove the fan. Refer to Fan Clutch ReplacementΒ .
  4. Reposition the outlet hose clamp at the water pump.
  5. Disconnect the outlet hose (2) from the water pump.

  6. Reposition the bypass hose clamps at the water pump and crossover.
  7. Remove the bypass hose.

  8. Remove the water pump bolts.
  9. Remove the water pump and gaskets.
