Support Replacement: Installation

2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo Extended, 5.7 R, L31/KL8SECTION Installation

  1. Position the support assembly to the vehicle. See Figure.
  2. Install the support to body bolts. Tighten the support to body bolts to 170 N.m (125 lb ft).
  3. Connect the toe link to the support assembly. See TOE LINK REPLACEMENTΒ .
  4. Connect the upper control arm to the support assembly. Refer to REAR AXLE UPPER CONTROL ARM REPLACEMENTΒ .
  5. Install the lower control arm to the support assembly. Refer to REAR AXLE LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHING REPLACEMENTΒ .
  6. Install the stabilizer shaft. Refer to STABILIZER SHAFT REPLACEMENTΒ .
  7. If equipped with all wheel drive, install the rear drive axle. Refer to DIFFERENTIAL REPLACEMENT in REAR DRIVE AXLE .
  8. Install the exhaust muffler and resonator assembly.
  9. Install the tires and wheels.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Check the rear alignment.
