- Perform CRUISE CONTROL DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ . Once test has been performed, go to next step.
- Install scan tool. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off. With scan tool, observe the cruise lamp parameter in the IPC data list. If the scan tool indicates that the cruise lamp is commanded on, go to next step. If not, go to step Β 4.
- With scan tool, observe the cruise parameter in the PCM data list. If the scan tool indicates that the cruise control engaged, see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - 3.5L or SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - 4.0L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If not, go to next step.
- Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the instrument cluster. If you found and corrected the condition, go to step Β 6. If not, go to next step.
- Replace the Instrument Panel Cluster. See GAUGES & INSTRUMENT PANELS article. If you completed the repair, go to next step.
- Operate the system in order to verify the repair. If condition is not corrected, go to step Β 2.
