    NOTE: Do not fold or twist strainer when installing the sending unit. This action restricts fuel flow.
  1. Install new strainer, if necessary, on fuel sender assembly.
  2. Install fuel sender assembly with a new seal into the fuel tank.
  3. Install fuel tank.
  4. Install pickup box.
  5. Disconnect fuel feed line at the front of the vehicle.
  6. Connect a hose to the fuel feed line at the front of the vehicle.
  7. Insert end of hose into a one gallon fuel can.
  8. Connect negative battery cable.
  9. Fill 6 gallons of clean fuel into fuel tank.
  10. Using scan tool, energize fuel pump until 1/2 gallon of fuel flows into the fuel can. This will purge the fuel pump.
  11. Install fuel line at the front of the vehicle.
  12. Inspect for leaks through the following steps: Turn ignition on for 2 seconds, turn ignition off for 10 seconds, then turn ignition on. Inspect for fuel leaks.
