Air Bag Modules: Installation

2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Installation
  1. Connect air bag connector and install CPA clip. Connect horn lead. Install air bag module to steering wheel, ensuring no wires are pinched. Install air bag module mounting Torx bolts through back of steering wheel and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
  2. Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEMΒ . Check system for proper operation. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECKΒ .

  1. Install air bag module. Install bolts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ . Connect air bag connector and reinstall CPA clip. Install instrument panel trim pad. See INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM PADΒ .
  2. Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEMΒ . Check system for proper operation. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECKΒ .
