A camshaft-driven, gear-type oil pump is mounted at bottom of cylinder block and is accessible with oil pan removed. Oil pump supplies pressurized oil to internal passages of cylinder block. Internal passages intersect with hydraulic valve lifter bosses where oil flows to main and camshaft bearings and lifters. See Figure.
