Engine Front Cover and Oil Pump Installation

2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Engine Front Cover and Oil Pump Installation

  1. Install the engine front cover with a new gasket.

  2. Install the long water pump bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the water pump bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the engine front cover bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the engine front cover bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the accessory drive belt tensioner.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the accessory drive belt tensioner bolt to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).
