WARNING: Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Do not apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.

All vehicles are equipped with tilt columns, with tilt lever located on lower left side of column. Multifunction switch is integral of lever on left side of column. Multifunction switch controls turn signals, headlight high/low beam, headlight flash-to-pass and cruise control functions. Lever on right side of column contains all windshield wiper/washer switch functions.

Some models are equipped with electronic telescoping column, allowing fore and aft movement of steering wheel. If equipped, self-diagnostics are available for isolating faults with this system.
