Throttle Body: Installation
2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Installation

CAUTION:
The outlet of the air cleaner assembly and the MAF/IAT sensor inlet duct must line up when completely installed. Misalignment may cause incorrect airflow readings resulting in MIL illumination or a driveability concern. An improperly installed inlet duct assembly or air cleaner assembly may cause misalignment. DO NOT reuse the old throttle body gasket.
- Install the accelerator cable bracket to the throttle body, if necessary. Install the accelerator cable bracket bolts to the accelerator cable bracket. Tighten the bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- Position the NEW throttle body gasket on to the throttle body. Install bolts from the throttle body to the water crossover assembly and plenum duct. Tighten the bolts to specification. Install the IAC valve electrical connector. Install the TP sensor electrical connector.
- Install the accelerator control cable to the throttle body lever. Install the cruise control cable to the throttle body lever. Install the accelerator cable to the accelerator controls cable bracket. Install the cruise control cable to accelerator controls cable bracket. Install the transaxle shift cable clip to the accelerator controls cable bracket.
- Install the fuel feed and return lines from the retainer on to the accelerator controls cable bracket. Install the MAF/IAT sensor electrical connector. Install the air cleaner intake duct assembly. Install the PCV valve fresh air tube. Keeping the injector sight shield as level as possible, place the rear of the shield under the mounting bracket. Align and press the injector sight shield onto the mounting studs. Install the mounting nuts onto the mounting studs and tighten nuts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ . Install the negative battery cable. Install the rear seat cushion.
- Perform the TP sensor learn procedure. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN/ON position. Wait 1 minute. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK/OFF position. Wait 15 seconds. Perform the IAC valve learn procedure. Start and idle the engine for 15 seconds. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK/OFF position. Wait 15 seconds. Restart the engine and check for proper idle operation.
