Diagnostic Procedure

2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Program PASS-Key(R) system. See BCM/PASS-KEY(R)Β  under PROGRAMMING. After programming, go to step Β 3 .
  2. Using scan tool, check for DTCs B2722 or B2723. If either of these DTCs exist, perform appropriate diagnostic procedure. If neither of these DTCs exist, go to step Β 4 .
  3. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If DTC B2735 is current, go to step Β 2 . If DTC B2735 is not current, system is operating properly.
  4. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)Β  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Program BCM. See BCM/PASS-KEY(R)Β  under PROGRAMMING. After repairs, go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Clear DTCs and recheck system operation.
