Installation Procedure
2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Installation Procedure

- Connect the electrical connections.
- Connect the mode control cable. Refer to Mode Control Cable Replacement (Chevrolet) or Mode Control Cable Replacement (Pontiac) .
- Connect the temperature control cable. Refer to Temperature Control Cable Replacement (Chevrolet) or Temperature Control Cable Replacement (Pontiac) .
- Install the HVAC control assembly (1) to the I/P. See Figure.
- Install the HVAC control assembly retaining screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
- Install the accessory trim plate. Refer to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY (CHEVROLET) or TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY (PONTIAC) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
NOTE:
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
