2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Removal Procedure

- Remove the upper door hinge. Refer to HINGE REPLACEMENT - FRONT DOOR .
- Install the J 36604 in order to capture as many door hinge spring coils as possible.
- Using a hammer, tap the J 36604 in order to fully seat the J 36604 onto the door hinge spring.
- Tighten the bolt on the J 36604 in order to fully compress the door hinge spring.
- Remove the J 36604 and the door hinge spring from the door hinge assembly.
- Loosen the bolt on the J 36604.
- Remove the door hinge spring from the J 36604.
