Installation Procedure
2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Installation Procedure

- Install the door latch handle to the I/P compartment door.
- Install the anti-rattle device to the door latch (2), if equipped.
- Install the door latch (2) to the I/P compartment door (3).NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the I/P compartment door latch screws (1).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.3 N.m (20 lb in).
- Connect the anti-rattle device to the door latch mounting point, if equipped.
- Install the inner I/P reinforcement cover to the I/P compartment door. Refer to DOOR REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) COMPARTMENT .
- Inspect the I/P compartment door for proper operation.
- Close the I/P compartment door.
