2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the ignition switch (3) to the steering column (1).
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the retaining screws (2) to the ignition switch (3).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 4 N.m (36 lb in).

  3. Install the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER REPLACEMENT (WITHOUT KEY)   or  IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER REPLACEMENT (WITH KEY)   . 
  4. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS REPLACEMENT  .
  5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
