2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Installation Procedure

- Install the transmission shift rod to the transmission shift shaft.
- Using a drift or punch, install the roll pin (1) to retain the transmission shift rod to the shift shaft.
- Pull the transmission shift rod away from the transmission to the middle detent position (NEUTRAL).
- Install the transmission to the driveline support assembly, then install the driveline support assembly, transmission and differential to the vehicle. Refer to Driveline Support Assembly Replacement (Automatic Transmission) or Driveline Support Assembly Replacement (Manual Transmission) in Driveline/Axle.
- Install the shift control assembly. Refer to Shift Control Assembly Replacement .
