2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the strut assembly. Refer to STRUT ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENTΒ .
  2. Mount the J 34013-BΒ  into the J 3289-20Β  .
  3. Install the strut assembly into the J 34013-BΒ  using the J 34013-88Β  .
  4. Compress the coil spring.

  5. Remove the dust cap (1).
  6. Remove the strut rod piston nut (2).
  7. Release the compressed spring (10).
  8. Remove the strut assembly from the J 34013-BΒ  .
  9. Remove the following components from the strut:
    1. 9.1. The strut support (3)
    2. 9.2. The dust seal (4)
    3. 9.3. The spring seat (5)
    4. 9.4. The upper insulator (6)
    5. 9.5. The coil spring (10)
    6. 9.6. The spring bumper (7)
    7. 9.7. The lower insulator (9)
