2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Allow the front suspension to hang free.
  2. Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies.
  3. Remove the lower pinch bolt from the intermediate shaft.
  4. Remove the stabilizer shaft links (6). Refer to STABILIZER SHAFT LINK REPLACEMENTΒ .
  5. Support the front suspension crossmember with a suitable jackstand.
  6. Remove the rear mounting bolts from the front suspension crossmember.
  7. Remove the center mounting bolts from the front suspension crossmember.
  8. Remove the front mounting bolts from the front suspension crossmember.
  9. Lower the front suspension crossmember approximately 15 cm (6 in) by adjusting the jack stands down.
  10. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator brackets (2) retaining bolts (1).
  11. Remove the stabilizer shaft (3) from the vehicle.
