2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Removal Procedure

    NOTE: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
  1. Open and support the hood.
  2. Install a protective covering over the fenders.
  3. Remove the hood insulator, if equipped. Refer to Hood Insulator ReplacementΒ .
  4. Remove the hood latch striker. Refer to Hood Latch Striker ReplacementΒ .
  5. Mark the upper hood hinge location to the hood with a grease pencil.
  6. With the aid of an assistant, remove the bolts which secure the hood hinge to the hood.

  7. With the aid of an assistant, remove the hood.
