2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the wire harness from the compartment lid applique. Refer to Compartment Lid Applique Replacement - Rear (Pontiac Sedan/Chevrolet - All)Β .
  2. IMPORTANT: Do not detach the remote release cable from the compartment lid latch.
  3. Remove the compartment lid latch. Refer to Latch Replacement - Rear Compartment LidΒ .
  4. Remove the rear lid spoiler. Refer to Spoiler Replacement - Rear (Pontiac)Β  or Spoiler Replacement - Rear (Chevrolet)Β .
  5. With an assistant remove the rear lid lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Rear Compartment LidΒ .
  6. With an assistant remove the compartment lid hinge bolts (1) from the rear compartment lid (3).
  7. With an assistant remove the compartment lid (3).
