Removal Procedure

2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Removal Procedure

Disconnect the wire harness from the compartment lid applique. Refer to Compartment Lid Applique Replacement - Rear (Pontiac Sedan/Chevrolet - All) .

IMPORTANT: Do not detach the remote release cable from the compartment lid latch.

Remove the compartment lid latch. Refer to Latch Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid .
Remove the rear lid spoiler. Refer to Spoiler Replacement - Rear (Pontiac) or Spoiler Replacement - Rear (Chevrolet) .
With an assistant remove the rear lid lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid .
With an assistant remove the compartment lid hinge bolts (1) from the rear compartment lid (3).
With an assistant remove the compartment lid (3).
