2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3Β .
  2. On vehicles with tilt steering columns, remove the upper trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
  3. On vehicles with non-tilt steering columns, remove the lower trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement
  4. Turn the steering wheel until two of the four openings on the back of the steering wheel are accessible.
  5. Adjust and install J 44298Β  into the 2 openings. See Special Tools and EquipmentΒ .
