2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the horn contact lead to the steering wheel cam tower.
  2. Rotate the horn contact lead 1/4 turn clockwise in order to secure the horn contact lead.
  3. Connect the yellow SIR electrical connector to the back of the steering wheel inflator module (1).
  4. Install the CPA to the yellow SIR electrical connector.
  5. Install the inflator module (1) to the steering wheel by pushing on both sides of the inflator module until the retaining springs engage.

  6. Install the steering column trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3Β .
  8. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and ScrappingΒ .
