A/C Compressor Clutch Relay
When HVAC control assembly A/C button is depressed or front defrost mode is selected, an A/C request signal is sent to the Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM then sends a class 2 message to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) through the class 2 serial data circuit. The PCM internally grounds the A/C compressor clutch relay, closing relay contacts and sending voltage to compressor clutch coil for compressor operation. Compressor clutch relay is located in underhood electrical center. See Figure.
