2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Apply the parking brake.
    CAUTION: Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the console. Refer to CONSOLE REPLACEMENTΒ .
  4. Remove the IP accessory trim plate. Refer to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORYΒ .
  5. Remove the driver knee bolster trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - KNEE BOLSTERΒ .
  6. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder electrical connector from the retaining tab on the side of the ignition switch.
  7. Disconnect the ignition switch lock cylinder electrical connector.
