2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the tie rod from the steering knuckle. Refer to TIE ROD END REPLACEMENT - OUTER .
  4. If the vehicle is equipped with ABS, disconnect the ABS electrical connector.
  5. Remove the hub and bearing assembly. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - FrontΒ .
  6. Remove the bolts (3) and nuts (6) that attach the steering knuckle (4) to the strut (2).

  8. Remove the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle. Refer to Lower Ball Joint ReplacementΒ .
  9. Remove the steering knuckle (4) from the vehicle.
