Installation Procedure

2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the steering knuckle (4) to the vehicle.

  3. Install the lower ball joint to the steering knuckle. Refer to Lower Ball Joint ReplacementΒ .
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Install the bolts (3) and the nuts (6) attaching the steering knuckle (4) to the strut (2). Tighten the nuts (6) to 180 N.m (133 lb ft).
  5. Install the hub and bearing assembly. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - FrontΒ .
  6. If the vehicle is equipped with ABS, connect the ABS electrical connector.
  7. Install the tie rod to the steering knuckle. Refer to TIE ROD END REPLACEMENT - OUTER .
  8. Install the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  9. Inspect the front wheel alignment. Refer to MEASURING WHEEL ALIGNMENT .
