2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new bolts or apply adhesive/Sealant compound GM P/N 123454493 or equivalent to all flywheel to crankshaft bolts that are being re-used.
  2. Carefully follow the instructions included with the thread locking compound to ensure proper bolt retention.
  3. Install the flywheel and the attaching bolts.
  4. Install the J 38122-AΒ  .
    • Tighten bolts to 30 N.m (22 ft lbs).
    • Then rotate the bolts 45 degrees using J 36660-A.Β 
  5. For vehicle equipped with a manual transmission, install the clutch and pressure plate and clutch cover assembly.
  6. Install the transmission assembly. Remove the transmission assembly.
  7. Install the right engine splash shield.
