Installation Procedure

2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Lubricate a new O-ring with DEXRON III transmission fluid.
  2. Install the new O-ring.
  3. Install the VSS retainer.
  4. Install the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) assembly.
  5. Install the VSS retainer bolt.

    TightenΒ 

    Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb. in).

  6. Connect the VSS connector to the VSS.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
