2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Installation Procedure

- Loosely install the strut to knuckle bolts (5) and nuts (3). See Figure
Important:Β Align the scribe marks in order to ensure proper alignment.
- Install the strut to body bolts (3) inside the fender well.NOTE: See Fastener NoticeΒ
- Install the strut mount to body nuts (1) in the trunk area. See Figure
TightenΒ
- Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 ft lbs).
- Tighten the strut to knuckle bolts to 120 N.m (89 ft lbs).
- Install the tire and wheel assembly.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Check the wheel alignment. See CAVALIER & SUNFIRE in SPECIFICATIONS article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
