Asleep & Awake Functions

2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Asleep & Awake Functions

Wake-up signals turn Body Control Module (BCM) on to begin controlling and/or monitoring certain functions. On 2001 models, BCM wake-up inputs include door ajar switches, ignition switch actuation, inadvertent power feedback, driver door lock and trunk release actuation. On 2002 models, BCM wake-up inputs are the same as 2001 models and also include headlamp actuation, key-in-ignition, parklamp actuation, and detection of battery disconnect and reconnect.

The BCM will sleep if there are no delay timers activated, no output commands, no serial 2 data activity, or ignition switch is in OFF position.
