DTC B1001: Option Configuration Error: Testing
2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, 2.4 TSECTION Testing
- If Body Control Module (BCM) diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to BODY CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located at lower left side of instrument panel, near steering column. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Retrieve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). If DTC B1001 is retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B1001 is not retrieved, system is okay at this time.
- Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULEΒ under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Program BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMMING/REGULAR PRODUCTION OPTION CONFIGURATIONΒ under PROGRAMMING.
