Test A: All Power Windows Inoperative

- If door system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If door system diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to DOOR SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Attempt to operate power windows. If power windows do not operate correctly, go to next step. If power windows operate correctly, perform procedure while wiggling related wiring and connectors. This can often cause an intermittent malfunction to appear.
- Disconnect master window switch 6-pin harness connector C1, located in center console. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect a test light between ground and master window switch harness connector C1 terminal "C" (Brown wire). See Fig 1 . If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 5 .
- Connect a test light between master window switch harness connector C1 terminal "C" (Brown wire) and terminal "A" (Black wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 6 . If test light does not illuminate, go to step 9 .
- Check for poor connections or open in Brown wire between master window switch harness connector C1 terminal "C" and instrument panel fuse block PWR WDO (25-amp) circuit breaker. If problem is not found, go to step 7 . If problem is found, repair Brown wire as necessary. After repairs, go to step 10 .
- Check for poor connections at master window switch. If problem is not found, go to step 8 . If problem is found, repair as necessary. After repairs, go to step 10 .
- Repair short to ground in Brown wire between master window switch and instrument panel fuse block. After repairs, go to step 10 .
- Replace master window switch. See MASTER WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 10 .
- Repair poor connection or open in Black wire between master window switch and ground. Ground point is located under driver seat frame. After repairs, go to next step.
- Operate power windows to verify repair. If power windows operate correctly, system is okay. If power windows do not operate correctly, go to step 2 .
