Removal Procedure

- Disconnect negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary Battery) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) in Engine Electrical.
- Remove engine sight shield.
- Remove air intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct ReplacementΒ .
- Disconnect fuel injection control module.
- Disconnect fuel filter/heater assembly connectors.
- Disconnect right rear fuel injector harness connector.
- Disconnect right front fuel injector harness connector.
- Disconnect turbo boost sensor.
- Remove sight shield hold-down bracket.
- Disconnect coolant temperature sensor.
- Remove turbo water inlet hose.
- Disconnect engine harness bulk connectors.
- Remove bolts retaining bulk connectors to bracket.
- Remove left turbo air outlet hose.
- Disconnect left front fuel injector harness connector.
- Disconnect left rear fuel injector harness connector.
- Disconnect fuel rail temperature sensor connector.
- Disconnect glow plug relay connectors.
- Disconnect oil level harness connector.
- Disconnect BARO sensor connector.
- Disconnect fuel rail pressure sensor connector.
- Raise vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove front lower skid plate.
- Disconnect crankshaft position sensor.
- Disconnect camshaft position sensor.
- Remove bolts retaining engine harness grounds.
- Lower vehicle.
- Unroute and lift engine wiring harness assembly for access to fuel rail pressure regulator.
- Disconnect fuel rail pressure regulator.
- Remove engine wiring harness from vehicle.
