  1. Remove the upper intake manifold sight shield using the following procedure:
    1. Remove the retaining bolt in the front of the shield.
    2. Lift up on the front of the shield.
    3. Lift the shield off the rear bracket.
  2. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct ReplacementΒ .
  3. Remove glow plus relax assembly. Refer to Glow Plug Relay Replacement (California)Β , Glow Plug Relay Replacement (Federal)Β .
  4. Remove PCV valve hose.

  6. Remove the 3 bolts connecting the air intake pipe to the turbocharger.
  7. Remove the air intake pipe (1) from the turbocharger (3).
