Rear Window Defogger System Check
2000 Chevrolet Chevy Express G3500, Van Cargo, 4.3 WSECTION Rear Window Defogger System Check
- Turn ignition on. Depress rear window defogger switch one time. Rear window defogger indicator should illuminate. Heated mirrors (if equipped) and rear window defogger grid should become warm to the touch within 2 minutes and turn off after 10 minutes. If system operates as specified, leave ignition on and go to next step. If system does not operate as specified, see appropriate test under SYSTEM TESTS .
- Depress rear window defogger switch again. Rear window defogger indicator should illuminate. Heated mirrors (if equipped) and rear window defogger grid should become warm to the touch within 2 minutes and turn off after 5 minutes. If system operates as specified, leave ignition on and go to next step. If system does not operate as specified, see appropriate test under SYSTEM TESTS .
- Depress rear window defogger switch again. Rear window defogger indicator should illuminate. Wait approximately 15 seconds and depress rear window defogger switch again. Rear window defogger indicator should not be illuminated and rear window defogger should be off. If system operates as specified, test is complete. If system does not operate as specified, see appropriate test under SYSTEM TESTS .
