Voltmeter Reading Is Inaccurate
Connect an external voltmeter between battery terminals. If external voltmeter reading is same as voltmeter in vehicle, voltmeter is okay. If external voltmeter reading is different than that of vehicle voltmeter, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
