Test C: Power Seat Does Not Move Vertically

2000 Chevrolet Chevy Express G3500, Van Cargo Extended, 6.5 FSECTION Test C: Power Seat Does Not Move Vertically
  1. If power seat system check has been performed, go to next step. If power seat system check has not been performed, go to POWER SEAT SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Disconnect suspect power seat switch harness connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between battery positive and power seat switch harness connector terminal "A" (Light Blue wire). Connect another fused jumper wire between ground and power seat switch harness connector terminal "C" (Black wire). Rear of seat should move down. Move jumper wire from terminal "A" to terminal "B" (Yellow wire). Rear of seat should move up. If seat moves as specified, go to next step. If seat does not move as specified, go to step  4 .
  3. Replace suspect power seat switch. See POWER SEAT ADJUSTER SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to step  8 .
  4. Check continuity between suspect power seat switch harness connector terminals "A" (Light Blue wire) and "B" (Yellow wire). If continuity exists, go to step  7 . If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect suspect power seat motor harness connector. Check continuity between power seat motor connector (motor side) terminals "A" (Red wire) and "B" (Black wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, go to step  7 .
  6. Repair open in Light Blue or Yellow wire between power seat switch and power seat motor. Go to step  8 .
  7. Replace power seat motor. See ADJUSTER MOTORS & DRIVE CABLES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  8. Retest system. See POWER SEAT SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If symptom still exists, go to step  2 . If symptom does not exist, system is okay.
