Battery Rundown Protection

2000 Chevrolet Cavalier Base, 2D Coupe, Automatic, 4T40E/MN4SECTION Battery Rundown Protection

Body Control Module (BCM) helps to prevent inadvertent battery rundown from courtesy lights left on. The BCM monitors current draw on the courtesy light circuit and will interrupt power to the courtesy lights to minimize battery drain. When ignition is turned off, a time-out period of 20 minutes begins. After 20 minutes, the inadvertent output is turned off. When the BCM receives a wake up signal, it will turn the output back on and reset time-out period.
