2000 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis K2500, 7.4 J, AutomaticSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and RechargingΒ .

  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Remove the air baffle bolts.
  5. Remove the air baffle.

  7. Remove the suction hose to A/C compressor nut.
  8. IMPORTANT: Immediately cap or tape the open A/C components in order to prevent contamination.
  9. Disconnect the suction hose from the A/C compressor.
  10. Remove and discard the seal washer and position the suction hose aside.
  11. Cap or tape the A/C compressor suction port and suction hose end fitting.
  12. Lower the vehicle.

  14. Remove the high pressure relief valve from the A/C compressor.
