  1. Verify that the transmitter is the correct transmitter for the vehicle.
    • If not the correct transmitter, replace the transmitter.
  2. Remove the battery from the transmitter. Verify that the battery voltage is greater than 2.8V.
    • If the voltage is less than 2.8V, replace the battery.
  3. Ignition ON, press each button on the transmitter. Verify that all of the scan tool Remote Command parameters change state when each button is pressed.
    • If one or more of the parameters do not change state, replace the transmitter.
  4. If the transmitter functions normally, replace the BCM.
