Removal Procedure

1999 Chevrolet Pickup K1500, 5.7 RSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGINGΒ  .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the air baffle bolts.
  4. Remove the air baffle.

  5. Remove the suction hose to A/C compressor nut.

    Important:Β  Immediately cap or tape the open A/C components immediately in order to prevent contamination.

  6. Disconnect the suction hose from the A/C compressor.
  7. Remove and discard the seal washer and position the suction hose aside.
  8. Cap or tape the A/C compressor suction port and suction hose end fitting.
  9. Lower the vehicle.

  10. Remove the high pressure relief valve from the A/C compressor.
