Installation Procedure

1999 Chevrolet Pickup K1500, 5.7 RSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Using a lint-free clean, dry cloth, carefully clean the sealing surfaces of the evaporator inlet tube fitting.

    Important:  DO NOT allow any of the mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil on the O-ring seal to enter the refrigerant system.

  2. Lightly coat the O-ring seal with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
  3. Install the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor to the evaporator inlet tube.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the sensor to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  4. Connect the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.
  5. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A.

  6. Install the air baffle.
  7. Install the air baffle bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
