1999 Chevrolet Pickup K1500, 5.7 RSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Switch Lock Cylinder ReplacementΒ  .
  2. Remove the fasteners securing the ignition switch to the IP retainer.
  3. Push and release the retaining tab at the rear of the ignition switch.

  4. Remove the ignition switch through the radio opening in the retainer.
  5. Disconnect the shift interlock cable from the ignition switch.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors from ignition switch.
