Charging System Check

1999 Chevrolet Camaro Base, 2D Coupe, AutomaticSECTION Charging System Check
  1. Check battery and battery cables. Check STRTR, IGN, and GAGES fuses in instrument panel fuse block. Check system grounds. Check starter connections. Check drive belt. Turn ignition switch to START position. If engine cranks, go to next step. If starter solenoid does not click or starter solenoid clicks, but engine does not crank, diagnose starter. See appropriate STARTERS article.
  2. Start engine. Check voltage at battery. If voltage is 13-16 volts, system is okay. If voltage is not 13-16 volts, go to BATTERY IS UNDERCHARGED OR OVERCHARGEDΒ  .
