- Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect EBTCM connector C1. Turn ignition switch on. If LOW TRAC indicator illuminates, go to step 4)Β . If ABS indicator does not illuminate, go to step 3)Β .
- Replace EBTCM.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between pinout box terminals No. 15 and 26 (1998 Camaro) or terminals No. 25 and 15 (Grand Prix). If resistance is infinite, go to step 6)Β . If resistance is not infinite, go to next step.
- Repair short to ground in Dark Blue wire (Circuit No. 1537) for 1998 Camaro or Light Green wire (Circuit No. 1656) for Grand Prix between instrument cluster and EBTCM.
- Diagnose instrument cluster. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
