Reassembly & Installation

- To reassemble, reverse disassembly procedure. Coat components with engine oil before installation. Tighten oil pump cover bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ table. Ensure rotors rotate freely by hand after oil pump cover is installed.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure oil pump pins are installed in cylinder block before installing oil pump. Install Oil Seal Guide (J-34853) on crankshaft to prevent damage to oil seal during oil pump installation. See Fig 1.
- Make sure all bolts are installed in their proper locations. See Fig 2. Tighten retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ table. Cut oil pump gasket even with cylinder block.
- To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure. Use NEW "O" ring on dipstick tube. Use NEW seal on oil pump pick-up tube.
