  1. Check operation of keyless entry system. See OPERATION  . Go to next step.
  2. Press door lock button on transmitter. If door locks do not operate correctly, go to next step. If door locks operate correctly, check for intermittent problem. Check all applicable component connections. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  and WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. Lock and unlock door locks using controls inside vehicle. If system operates correctly, go to next step. If system does not operate correctly, see appropriate POWER DOOR LOCKS article.
  4. Test transmitter operation. See TRANSMITTER TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS. If tone sounds and Green light illuminates on keyless entry tester when each button is pressed, go to next step. If transmitter does not operate as specified, go to step  7 .
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect RCDLR connector. RCDLR is attached to cowl above engine cover. Disconnect power door lock relay. Behind center of instrument panel, above engine cover. See Figure . Check continuity of lock circuit between terminal "R" on RCDLR harness connector and terminal "F" on relay harness connector. See Figure and Figure . Check continuity of unlock circuit between terminal "B" on RCDLR harness connector and terminal "A" on relay harness connector. Repair either circuit as necessary. After repair, go to step  9 . If both circuits are okay, go to next step.
  6. Check RCDLR harness connector. Ensure terminals are clean and tight. Repair connector as necessary. After repair, go to step  9 . If no problems are found, go to next step.
  7. Replace transmitter. Program all transmitters. See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING  under PROGRAMMING. Go to step  9 .
  8. Replace RCDLR. Program all transmitters. See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING  under PROGRAMMING. Go to next step.
  9. Press each button on transmitter. If keyless entry system does not operate correctly, go to step  3 . If keyless entry system operates correctly, repair is complete.
