1998 Chevrolet Suburban K2500, 7.4 J, Part TimeSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Apply GM P/N United States 12346004, GM P/N Canada 10953480 or equivalent to the coolant heater seal and the coolant heater hole.
  2. Ensure that the coolant heater element is horizontal and pointed toward the front of the engine.

    The 3 o'clock position (2) is DESIRED.

    The 2 o'clock position (1) and the 4 o'clock position (3) are acceptable.

  3. Install the coolant heater.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the coolant heater bolt.

    TightenΒ 

    Tighten the bolt to 2 N.m (18 lb. in).
