- Perform Retained Accessory Power (RAP) system diagnostic system check. See RETAINED ACCESSORY POWER (RAP) SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If Retained Accessory Power (RAP) system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove RAP relay from left instrument panel fuse block. Operate power windows and sun roof (if equipped). If power windows and sun roof (if equipped) operate properly, go to next step. If power windows and sun roof (if equipped) doe not operate properly, go to step 4.
- Check for short to power in circuit between RAP relay connector in left instrument panel fuse block and suspect component. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary and go to step 7.
- Connect a test light between ground and RAP relay connector terminal No. 707 in left instrument panel fuse block. See Figure. If test light illuminates, go to step 6. If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Replace RAP relay and go to step 7.
- Replace and reprogram BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under PROGRAMMING. After repairs, go to next step.
- Check system operation. If system operates properly, system okay at this time. If system does not operate properly, go to step 2.
