Retained Accessory Power (RAP) is a vehicle power mode that permits operation of selected customer convenience items after ignition switch is turned to OFF position. These selected items will remain in operation until a passenger compartment door is opened or until RAP function timer reaches its shut-off limit.

BCM closes RAP relay in either RAP function as described above or if BCM detects a RUN or ACC power mode. This provides power for following:

  • Power windows.
  • Sunroof control module (if equipped).
BCM opens RAP relay to end RAP function when it ends RAP function as outlined in previous text.
