Installation Procedure

- Route the cables through the opening in the dash panel, past the retainers (1) on the plenum panel, to the latches.
- Position the latch handle.NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the screws which mount the hood release handle.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
- Install the cable grommet through the slits in the carpet insulator and into the dash panel.
- Connect the cables to the latches.
- Install the hood latches. Refer to HOOD LATCH REPLACEMENT - LEFT and to HOOD LATCH REPLACEMENT - RIGHT .
- Install the cable to the retainers (1).
- Verify the operation of the latches.
